The Total Improv sessions: These were the second test sessions at Dave Aron’s New Hollywood Way studio in Burbank CA 2012. Tracking the whole band at once, to see if all systems were a go and Total Improv was born.

Ironic story on how I ended up playing the drums on this recording. Willie called me and asked if I wanted to fly to LA and play percussion on a weekend recording session at Dave Aron's new studio Hollywood Way. Sure, would love it. While in LA, I was helping Willie fix a fence over at Stephen Perkins' house. Stephen was also set to play the drums on the same recording session I flew up for. When we were there, Stephen came out and told Willie that unfortunately he had to cancel out due to family. Willie turned to me at that point and said, "You're on drums". Well. ok... Those were some pretty big shoes to fill. I ended up borrowing Stephen’s kit. The same set that he played when they recorded "Porno's for Pyros", which was cool. Not only that, I was fortunate enough to play with some pretty amazing players that came in and out like a revolving door. It is strange how things end up happening sometimes.
